Tracy Coogan was born and raised in County Meath , Ireland , one of five children of Michael and Ann Coogan. Tracy got her first taste of acting while growing up in Ireland , appearing in numerous theatrical productions at her school, The Mercy Convent.
Upon graduation, Tracy went to New York City for the summer, where she represented Ireland in the Helen Rogers International Model and Talent Association. After an exciting and productive summer, Tracy remained in New York City to pursue her acting career, and her connections and opportunities grew quickly. Tracy 's New York theater credits include "The Playboy of the Western World", "Colleen Bawn" both at The Irish Repertory Theater, directed by Charlotte Moore and "Poor Beast in the Rain."
Theater critic WILBORN HAMPTON from the New York Times wrote,
"Tracy Coogan is credible as Eileen", in his review of "Poor Beast in the Rain"
Tracy is a passionate, sensitive and hard-working actor, with a strong professional work ethic born from her Irish lineage. Asked what makes her special as an actor, Tracy says, "I attach myself to the emotional life of a character, first and foremost ... it takes me forever to shake a character after a production is over." Tracy recently starred in "Love without Borders", a television series filmed in Moscow . She enjoyed her time in Russia , and demonstrated great flexibility as an actress, when she played the roles of Mary and Natasha -- grown twins who were separated at birth during the fall of the Soviet Union , and raised in different countries!
Tracy recently relocated to Los Angeles to pursue her career in film and television. Her recent film credits include her widely acclaimed performance as the star of the recent horror cult hit "Zombie Honeymoon," which was an official selection of The Hampton International Film Festival and the winner of a coveted Fangoria Chainsaw Award. Tracy 's performance in Zombie Honeymoon has received rave reviews, and the film was recently acquired by Showtime for release on both DVD and television. Tracy is currently in pre-production with two feature movies, "Dark Woods" and "Angela Nothing".
