My 17th video. This video is a tribute to the song that started the genre. Its a horror video that isn't scary, much like the song. I wanted this video to look and feel like it could have made 10 years ago. Its very basic, very slow, very old school. I wanted it to feel like you found the video in some dusty old cupboard that you didn't know existed in your attic or something. The audio for the video was ripped from the original vinyl. The sound is amazing, and I encoded it at 384kbs AC-3 so crank that shit up. Boogiepop Phantom has a history of being used with very ambitious art projects in the AMV world. Carlos did his famous horror videos with it, and Trythil created his own CGI with it, but I never really saw a classic, meat and potatoes Boogiepop video that I liked. This video is my attempt at that. There is nothing arty about this video, nothing eccentric, and nothing extravagant. It tells its simple story with the bare minimum possible. This video has very little to do with me, the editor, putting my stamp on an otherwise painfully boring anime. It is a tribute to the song, and the visuals are there to serve. Theres been a lot of talk recently about "making videos for yourself!" and how AMVs are dieing because people found a formula that works and are beating it to death. I made this video for me. I love watching it. The build up to the climax is one of my favorite sequences I've ever done, and came out perfectly. If you are familiar with the song, than you know exactly what to expect. I hope you guys enjoy it.
